Athearn displayed an extensive offering of Coca-Cola and John Deere licensed vehicles at the 2002 NMRA National Train Show in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Shown were various versions of the Ford C cab in both box and stake body versions, tractor-trailers models using the Kenworth W-900 (Coke and Diet Coke versions), and various railroad rolling stock pieces.
Frankly, each time we get a new photograph of the Atlas Ford Taurus it gets better looking! Shown above are the six color schemes to be offered by Atlas. Below is a close-up of the "Medium Willow Green" version.

In an additional development, Atlas has announced an additional 6 colors scheduled to be available in October, 2002. Scheduled are #1277 Ebony, #1278 Iris Frost, #1279 Light Saddle, #1280 Midnight Red, #1281 Pacific Green, and #1282 Silver Frost.
Busch is now shipping its third release of new items to distributors and retailers. Among many thers are the following new models: Ford E-350 Chicago Fire Department Ambulance and the Ford E- 350 Delivery Van. There is also a new brochure with illustrations and detailed descriptions of all these new items.
Due to circumstances beyond Busch's control, delivery of the Benz Patent Motor Car, originally scheduled for August, has been delayed to early September.

Italeri, a company well known for its 1/24 scale plastic trucks kits, is showing a Peterbilt conventional with refrigerated trailer (shown above), a Mercedes tractor and trailer, and a Scania with tanker trailer purported to be in 1/87 scale on their web site! The Peterbilt appears to be a 377 version in die-cast metal. We'll post more as we are able to confirm the details! Check the Italeri web site for a look. Lonestar Models announced they have purchased the rights to Ed Richardson's spectacular brass and stainless steel auto carrier (see the Chicago 2001 Midwest Show report). Lonestar plans to offer only painted and fully assembled versions with authorized paint schemes. Check the Lonestar web site for further details.
Wiking has anounced for August 2002 release:
896-01 The Krupp Ardelt (above, left) was only in production for three years, but it is one of the most highly prized Wiking models from the 1960s. The new model features revised tooling, but retains the red cab of the original. Estimated retail price $21.00 885-01 Wiking originally produced the Hanomag R16 (above, right) model in the 1950s as a 1/25 scale model. After a 14-month development, it is now available in 1/87 scale. Suggested retail price $13.00.
