101585 – BMW 7 Series, metallic gray, Private Collection
After regular versions in standard and metallic paint, a very neatly detailed Brilliant model, and BMW promotional models just as perfectly decorated, BMW’s flagship sedan finally gets a PC display box. BMW collectors apparently make for a large share of the market. Suggested U.S. retail price is $19.75.
045896 – MAN ME 2000 (L-cab) LF 12/16 “Fire Department, City of Recklinghausen”
This is a combination of the existing LF12/16 body with the MAN LE-Class crew-cab announced two months ago. The cab is also used on MAN’s mid size ME-Class chassis; the new tooling is restricted to an appropriate bumper section. The model is decorated for the Recklinghausen fire brigade, located in the Ruhr area of Germany. Suggested U.S. retail price is $22.95.
045902 – Mercedes-Benz Vario RTW “Fire Department”
An red EMS van with generic design, useful for model fire brigades all over Germany. Suggested U.S. retail price is $16.75.
045919 – 1996 BMW 5 Series Touring/Wagon “Berlin Police”
Berlin is yet another state to have switched to silver-and-green police cars and another state to lease their fleet from BMW. It appears the prices for the outgoing 5-Series are very persuasive. Suggested U.S. retail price is $13.75.
045926 – 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class “Hamburg Police”
Brandenburg and Hamburg are the only German states where silver police cars are not marked with green, but blue plastic foils. After Busch’s silver-and-blue Smart used by the press department, this is the second miniature of a Hamburg prototype in 1/87th scale. Suggested U.S. retail price is $13.75.
045933 – Mercedes-Benz Vario LWB van “Fire Department, City of Fürth”
The fire department of the city of Fürth (close to Nuremberg) operates this LWB Vario for water rescue operations. Suggested U.S. retail price is $13.75.
045940 – 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class “Taxi”
As with the silver-and-green police version, Wiking already produced an E-Class Taxi, but only as a very limited edition for a trade fair in 2002. The Herpa model’s production is not limited. The question remains how many of the expensive “Avantgarde”-line taxis are operated. Suggested U.S. retail price is $11.50.

149259 – Scania 4-Series Topline Conventional truck-tractor with box-type semi-trailer “150th anniversary of jeans”
Levi Strauss, the “inventor” of the ever-popular blue jeans, would celebrate his 150th birthday this year. For the occasion, Herpa designed a special model in cooperation with the Levi Strauss Museum and the Bing Brothers, who contribute a trucker bear. The model set, to be delivered in a plastic case with a certificate, is released in a strictly limited edition of 3,000 pieces. Suggested U.S. retail price is $75.00.

149334 – Mercedes-Benz Atego Ruthmann Steiger TK 310 Boom Truck
Shown as a pre-production sample at this year’s Nuremberg Toy Fair, the small Ruthmann Steiger is finally ready for delivery to hobby shops. The initial version, mounted on an Atego chassis, will be painted in community colors. As was the previous, and larger, Ruthmann Steiger, the 1/87th scale model is fully functional! Completely new tooling, of course. Suggested U.S. retail price is $22.95.
149341 – Scania 4-Series Topline truck-tractor with refrigerated box-type semi-trailer “McDonald's/WLS”
WLS is responsible for all of McDonald’s logistics in Germany and operates an all-Scania fleet. Previously, the only models were promotionals made for WLS of Duisburg. Limited edition. Suggested U.S. retail price is $34.25.
149358 – MAN TGA LX-cab truck with full trailer “DMS Kühne”
Deutsche Möbel-Spedition, DMS, is a network of independent carriers having specialized in the transport of furniture and office equipment. This yellow MAN TGA rig with interchangeable boxes is decorated for Kühne of Dortmund. Limited edition. Suggested U.S. retail price is $34.95.
149365 - Volvo FH12 Globetrotter truck-tractor
Two months ago, Herpa mentioned the Globetrotter XL-cab would be followed by a number of different versions. Here is the first one, the slightly lower Globetrotter cab with full aerodynamics kit, painted in blue. New tooling. Suggested U.S. retail price is $15.95.
149372 – 2002 Volvo FH12 Globetrotter truck and volume tandem trailer “Wandt”
Wandt of Braunschweig is a big collector’s theme for Herpa. The forwarder operates mainly Mercedes-Benz’ and MAN trucks, but there are a few Volvos and even a DAF. The model features the new Volvo FH Globetrotter cab without roof-spoilers and deflectors. Hence, new tooling. Suggested U.S. retail price is $31.95.

149389 – 2002 Mercedes-Benz Actros LH Lowliner truck-tractor with curtain-cover semi-trailer “Fliegl Road Runner”
Road Runner is the brand name for semi-trailers produced by Fliegl of Triptis in Thuringia.
New tooling for the semi-trailer’s side-protection bar, limited edition. Suggested U.S. retail price is $39.50.
149419 – 2002 Mercedes-Benz Actros LH truck and full tandem trailer “Gödecke”
Another forwarder whose models were only available as promotionals in the past, Gödecke Eurotrans is based in Lübeck, in the far North of Germany. Suggested U.S. retail price is $33.50.
149426 – Scania 4-Series Topline tandem-axle truck-tractor with Goldhofer lowboy semi-trailer / VW Transporter T4 escort vehicle “Hövelmann/Böckenholt”
The set consists of a heavily loaded Scania rig, decorated for Hövelmann transportation, and a VW T4 escort vehicle, painted for their sister company, Böckenholt. New tooling for the wrapped load. Suggested U.S. retail price is $59.95.
149433 – 1996 Mercedes-Benz Actros M-cab milk-truck with full trailer “Ansbach Dairy”
Ansbach is a small town very close to Herpa’s Dietenhofen headquarters. The local dairy operates six milk transporters, four of which are equipped with MB Actros M-cabs. Suggested U.S. retail price is $31.95.

Another volume semi-trailer pulled by a MAN TGA tractor. Limited edition. Suggested U.S. retail price is $33.50.
149457 – 1996 Mercedes-Benz Actros LH truck-tractor with refrigerated box-type semi-trailer “Suzi Wan/Rigterink”
Suzi Wan is one of Masterfoods’ convenience-food brands. Their logistics partner is the Rigterink Group of Nordhorn. Previous models decorated for this forwarder have always been sought-after collector’s items, and this is the very first model to make it into regular distribution. Limited edition. Suggested U.S. retail price is $44.95.

149464 – Starter Set “Autobahn Service Set I”
Following the first Starter Set of late 2002, a hauling company scene, another set is part of the August-to-August releases. The new set consists of ground foils, a Faller restaurant building (of the style usually seen alongside the Autobahn), and a number of Herpa models. Announced for later this year is a gas station to go with the restaurant set, hopefully with more contemporary pumps than Faller previously managed to produce. Suggested U.S. retail price is $199.00.
