Busch's latest releases include this year's Christmas mini-diorama. Entitled "Weihnachtliche Lausbubenstreich" (Christmastime Practical Joke), the scene includes a red hot rod based on the 1931 Ford AA (shown above). The model features such touches as a chromed roof luggage carrier complete with sacks and packages and chrome-plated wheel rims. Santa, an occupied "comfort facility" and other details complete the scene which is housed in a presentation case.
The "Christmas Practical Joke" is the fifth in the popular series of small holiday dioramas (although Busch notes they are not just for collectors). New Busch releases also include other previously-announced mini-dioramas and several special models.

The No. 48200 Chevrolet Pickup is now available in pastel green and orange-yellow.

Herpa has announced their new releases for January-February, 2002. A number of them are new decorations on familiar models, but there are a few new faces.
New models and significant changes:
023047 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S with distinctive new styling; yellow 033046 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, same as above in metallic blue 023054 BMW 7-Series. The newest of BMW's big sedans. This model was introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September and will now be available in regular distribution. Also includes a free-standing interior rear view mirror. Black standard finish 033053 BMW 7-Series, same in metallic red 101349 BMW Alpina Z8 Roadster, PC edition in black with 2-tone interior and Alpina rims 147804 Steyr TG-A XXL tractor with chassis panelling. InterMountain Railway Company is now offering this 1/87 scale ocean racing yacht. It is a model of one of the eight yachts competing in the "Volvo Ocean Race", an around-the-world sailing competition (we first showed you this model in our Chicago Hobby Show Report). This vessel, for team Assa Abloy, is the first release in a series of all eight yachts. This model is assembled and painted; rigging is included but not installed. The prototype is over 63' long and the main mast is over 83' tall. Produced by InterMountain Railway Company, the series will include all eight yachts. OHS Models has shipped the latest batch of Terex Unit Rig MT4400 brass models. The two models on the left are for Australian coal producer Leigh Creek Coal Field in yellow and white paint schemes. These models feature special ladder configurations that can be seen across the front of the grille and going up the left front of the vehicle. Third from the left is the MT4400 in white paint with an aftermarket Philippi Hagenbuch coal body. On the far right is an MT4400 produced especially for Grupo Mexico. The next batch of OHS Models' brass pieces are to be the Terex 33100, 33100B, and TR100 in two paint schemes expected for late January, 2002 delivery.
