Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Footwright Innett 1931 Autocar Ranger NT Tractor-Trailer - By Robert Ellis

Robert Ellis built this 1931 Autocar Ranger NT, repowered with Cummins HB-4 and 1935 Strick 22' dry van. The truck tractor is a kitbashed Roco ZiS-5. The frame was modified behind the cab to create a fifth wheel mount. The exhaust, sun visor, windshield, turn signal, fuel tanks, fuel fillers, tank brackets, and front bumper are scratchbuilt. Fifth wheel and mirror are from Sylvan. The trailer is a modified Sylvan Scale Models resin kit. It was skinned with .005" styrene to create a more western appearance. Tires and wheels are A-Line. Marker lights, air and electric connectors, brake details, and pintle mount are scratchbuilt. Pintle, air tank, and spare tire carrier are commercial details. One of the smaller western freight haulers, Footwright-Innett was well known for living up to its name.
