This Viking Freight System Kenworth T800 and set of 28' doubles trailers were built by Bob Johnson. Having built a similar setup back in 2001 for a retiring Viking Freight employee, Bob decided he wanted a set for himself. He finally started building this work-in-progress set recently. The tractor was built using Dennis Aust's extraordinary resin cab, hood, battery box and fuel tank mounted on a shortened Herpa Ford chassis with air suspension. The front aero bumper is a resin casting not commercially available. The airshield is from Jacobs Models, mirrors from Plano Model Products. All "glass" is .010" clear sheet. Decals are from Microscale. The trailers are Rail Power Products kits with Microscale decals and the converter dolly is from Athearn. The trailers still need unit numbers and detailing and the tractor still needs detailing.
