This model from Jim Groeneweg represents the late '60s, early '70s International DCF400 truck tractor in Labatt Breweries livery based in London, Ontario as best as he can remember it from when he was a kid. The impressive fleet of these trucks captured his attention from then on forward. The cab is a Sylvan Scale Models resin cab that has been lengthened from a 92” BBC to a 114” BBC version as Labatt’s used this style. The model utilizes the wheels/tires, interior and a few other Sylvan details mounted on a Promotex chassis. The mirrors, windshield wipers, and exhaust are scratchbuilt; air horns and front bumper are from Athearn.
The trailer is a 40’x12’6” high version (perfect for the beer haulers) from Trainworx that is pretty much box stock. Authentic fleet colors for Labatt's Breweries (which was patented in the day) was mixed up and applied to the unit and finished off with decals from Graphics On Demand.
