This is a Kenworth C-500 "Brute" logging truck. Dennis Raper used a heavily modified Dennis Aust resin front cap (hood and fenders) and cab. The headlights and grille are from an Athearn Kenworth W900. The bumper is from Dennis Aust with wheels and tires from Ralph Ratcliffe Models. The frame is from Herpa and has been lengthened by a prototypical 4 feet. The log bunk is from Herpa with rear fenders scratchbuilt from styrene. The headache rack is a heavily modified Herpa item, mirrors are from Don Mills Models, fuel tanks and air tanks are from Ralph Ratcliffe Models and Dennis Aust. The exhaust stack is scratchbuilt from styrene. The cut rubber tires on the headache rack are from an Imex model, grab handles and chains are from Scale Scenics and Detail Associates. Some details like the air horn, pintle hitch, and air cleaner are from forgotten sources as Dennis built this a couple years ago and can't remember. The model built from an actual truck from the Pacific Northwest logging scene shown at the bottom of this page.
