John DaPos says he wanted to create an older counterpart to his Mack R600 concrete mixer (an Athearn model) that he detailed. The older Mack DM was made from a solid resin Magnuson Models Mack DM cab that he hollowed out and mated to a modified Wiking mixer barrel and chassis. The wheels were left over from a Sylvan Scale Models resin kit to which John added various tires to give it a realistic "overworked" truck look. Interior, exhaust, and mirrors were all extra parts. John painted and applied homemade decals to match markings of younger Athearn Mack R600. The pair are shown at bottom below.
