Jim Balogh says he tried to represent one of those pieces of equipment you see that was parked for the last time and never touched again. Usually Mother Nature takes over and eventually it disappears. Jim started with a GHQ Models Insley excavator pewter kit. Model Masters rust, along with weathering powders were used to finish the model itself. The 'vine' is thin strands of wire, painted wood, and Woodland Scenics turf added for effect. The tree that has grown around the excavator is a twig taken from the fireplace kindling box. The base for all of this was cut from a piece of fire wood.
