Jim Groeneweg is in the process of rebuilding a GMC Astro model and wanted to upgrade it with a detailed engine and transmission. Both are out of production resin castings from Ralph Ratcliffe Models. The engine is a turbocharged Detroit 12V-71T mated to a Fuller Roadranger. Jim scratchbuilt the turbo and painted the engine genuine Detroit Diesel Alpine Green. It will go into the Astro rebuild and Jim says, yes, he will try to make the cab tilt!
