Often when we gather at our annual East Coast Meets in W. Springfield, Massachusetts we invariably discuss our admiration for our fellow modelers' handiwork on display in our Photo Galleries from the Fulda Meets in Germany. One modeler whose work we discussed this past year was Günter Storch. Günter was kind enough to send us some these photos and details of his Kenworth C500B "picker" model that is running for ATK Oilfield Transportation in Alberta, Canada. The cab and hood are from a resin model kit by Dennis Aust (no longer in production). The air cleaners are also Dennis Aust products. Günter used a long chassis (using a second one to splice it to make it longer), sleeper, and tires from Promotex. The fenders over the second steering axle are from Preiser. Günter used a Wiking excavator cab for the crane cab. The chains on the toolboxes are from A-Line. Rotating warning beacon lights, crane hook, and the interior of the crane cab are from Kibri. All the rest of this model is scratchbuilt from Evergreen styrene. The toolboxes and fuel tanks are self made resin castings. ATK and Kenworth logos are self printed. The picker trailer (shown above) is completely scratchbuilt from Evergreen styrene except some spare parts and tires from Promotex.
