                  | Bob Sundstrom built this classic Hill & Hill Truck Line rig using a stock KW Owner-Operator version from Athearn pulling a Convert-A-Van that was scratchbuilt on the top side and kitbashed below the deck from two 20' rack side flats from A-Line. The trailer, popular in the '60s, had a fixed nose cowling, a tarp, side and rear door panels that when set up was an enclosed open top trailer. When knocked down, it served as a flatbed. The fixed nose enclosure provided for storage of the panels, tarp, etc. when used as a flat. The complete construction process is in the September 2014 issue (#49) of Model Freightways. The trailer and the tractor feature the recently released Lonestar Models owner-operator truck tractor flatbed operator water slide decals. Posted August 24, 2014 |
