David Flynn tells us he bought Ralph Ratcliffe Models' Mack DM600 resin cab last year and a couple of months ago decided to model one of his town's tandem axle dump trucks. David planned this to be an easy build but it got more complicated as the project progressed.
The dump body was constructed from two Lindberg kits. The frame and wheels are from Sheepscot Models kits. David wanted 11.00x24 tires but nobody seems to make them so he used the 11.00x22 tires available.
The supports for the snow plow lights mounted to the radiator shell were bent from brass. David says building the model was fun and He learned a lot if he decides to build it again. David used a wash of Testors acrylic Armor Sand to weather the mud flaps and says he was pleasantly surprised by the results.
