Dennis Raper built this model of a hard working Kenworth W900 logging truck. Dennis began with an Athearn Kenworth model and lengthened the nose by one scale foot to make it an "extended hood" A-Model. It has a modified Alloy Forms headache rack, paper mud flaps, turn signals, shattered windshield (passenger side), extended frame, and a short length of A-Line scale chain over the frame rail behind the driver.
The trailer is from Herpa. Dennis flipped the suspension to make it sit a more realistic height and give the suspension a full range of motion. He painted the taillights and replaced the thick mud flaps with paper flaps. Both pieces were liberally dusted with AIM and Bragdon weathering powders. Posted August 8, 2014 |
