Geraint Roberts built this model of a little 1980s Ford Transit police van. The Ford Transit has always been a popular choice of van for use by police forces in Great Britain. This simple conversion of a Herpa Mk2 Ford Transit into a generic police personnel carrier based on Geraint's recollections of vehicles in use in the 1980s, in the days before light-bars, high visibility markings, and roof identification codes. A blue light (Wiking), police decals (BW), and age related registration plates (Signs of the Times) were added. The headlights, tail lights, indicators, door handles, wing mirrors, fuel filler cap and Ford badges were all painted, with the paint applied using wooden cocktail sticks.
