Fred Gruin built this "Michigan Train" starting with a resin cast Hendrickson cab by Clay Alvey, donated by Truck Stop Models, mounted on an Athearn Mack frame with Athearn fuel tanks and battery box. A Don Mills Models air horn, A-Line mirrors, Boley wheels on the steering axle and Promotex wheels on the drive axles. Decals are from Ed O'Keefe (bumper stripes) and Ken Goudy (cab stripes and door signs that read "Transamerican"). Both the air cleaner and exhaust stack were fabricated from aluminum tubing.
The trailer is a 48' Trucks N' Stuff flatbed, cut in half. Front end structures for each trailer (header boards) are by Lindberg. Promotex supplied the dolly converter, running gear, and wheels. Four Athearn simulated metal coils were used for the load.
