Here are more photos of Luis May's latest project; the new Bachmann hi-rail truck. Luis added Plano bumper posts, mirrors, and hazmat placards, Lonestar Models running lights on the cab, Herpa exhaust stack mounted on the driver's side like so many Ford F-800s Luis says he has seen. Tonkin wheels were added; the rear sets mounted directly to the model's powered wheels so they can prototypically turn as the truck moves. A-Line mud flaps trimmed short to fit behind the rear wheels, Microscale decals for the safety striping, labels, flags, and marker lights on the body were added. A Preiser oil drum cut down to fit in the raised truck bed and a driver in the cab, a rest bracket for the crane, and a Woodland Scenics pylon on the front bumper were also added. Luis also detail-painted the front turn signals and added custom decals for his railroad to the doors. Previously featured in Photo Gallery 560.
