Michael Smith tells this project was inspired by pictures of Hayes logging trucks he had seen on the internet. Michael started with a Roco GMC WWII vintage 5-ton truck tractor. He added additional Roco detail parts; mirrors, air cleaner, exhaust stack, and horn. It now has a Promotex headache rack, Details West logging bunks, and Micro Glaze on the windows. The trailer was scratch/bashed from the rear section of chassis of a Roco Army truck, sheet styrene, and a Q-tip tube. The logs are from an old Life-Like flat car with a heavy dose of chalk and Dullcoat. Posted
