Wayne Calder let his imagination get away from him again and "imagineered" this HUGE Caterpillar 996 wheeled loader. Although Cat doesn't produce this unit this large ("Yet," says Wayne) there have been discussions regarding the marketability of such a huge machine. Caterpillar's current second largest machine of this type is shown on the right, the 992G wheeled loader. For comparison purposes, Wayne has included an IT28G in the foreground. This is the size commonly seen around commercial construction and repair sites. The 992G and IT28G are both Classic Construction Models and the 996 was kitbashed from Ertl's 1/50 scale 988B.
