One of the most impressive intermodal/container yards we've seen is this scene depicted on the Great Western Modular Society's modular railroad on display at the Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society's 2012 convention in Temple, Texas June 19-24, 2012. The group from Corpus Christi, Texas has a large section built by modeler Chris Grote who is an accomplished vehicle modeler. Shown are two views of the container storage and staging yard. The yard tractors, trailers, and container chassis as well as many of the containers are Athearn models. Below in the background you can see a glimpse of the group's container ship. We'll be featuring more photos of Chris' work as well as some of his fellow Society modelers in future galleries.
