Back in Photo Gallery 495 we featured this 1958 Plymouth Suburban wagon that David Johnson says he found rusting away in a back yard. The model is from Athearn with solid blue factory paint and steel wheels from a Model Power '55 Chevrolet Bel Air. The trim was chromed with Bare Metal Foil.
Seeing this gem as a few hundred dollars in scrap metal, Dave's Towing took the Plymouth for its last ride (above). The tow truck is a slightly modified Trident Dodge. The photo is as the models are actually displayed on a friend's model railroad.
Below, our 1958 Plymouth is rescued from the torch by "Tow Mater" of Cars movie fame. This near 1/87 scale model came in a promo pack with Duracell AA batteries at the time of the first "Cars" movie.
