Dean Hess built this spectacular P-I-E dromedary combination starting with an Athearn P-I-E truck tractor and 40' van trailer. The tractor frame was stretched to accommodate an 11' dromedary box, making the overall length of this rig 60', the legal limit at the time (mid-'60s). Dean added A-Line fuel tanks and used an A-Line Fruehauf Z-van kit for the dromedary box. Note the under frame exhaust system instead of a usual vertical exhaust.
