This spectacular wood chip hauler was built by Jim Groeneweg. The Coronado truck tractor is an old build that has been previously featured. It features a Jacobs resin day cab mounted on a long wheelbase chassis with a Peterbilt flat top 42" sleeper. The tool /step boxes where shortened and scratchbuilt running boards added to a Herpa Ford Aeromax chassis. The cab is a resin cast item with all the Siku details (bumper/grille/breathers) items utilized with the resin cab and a Peterbilt 42" sleeper bunk cut off a Peterbilt 378 SBFA model. Wheels and tires are from Dennis Aust. Mirrors, exhaust stacks, mudflap/tail light bar stainless steel light panel below bunk, deck plate. and antennas are scratchbuilt. The half fenders are modified Kibri full fenders. The unit is finished in base/clear coat red black, gold and white auto paint. Chrome is a combination of BareMetalFoil and Alclad.
The trailers are based on the all new release from DecalPrint de. Kit # 929 WoodChip B Train Version 2, a model of Tycrop Manufacturing trailers. It is a laser cut styrene kit that has decals for all detail trim items. This version has the rear door details (on both units) scratchbuilt with Athearn landing gear, cut down Kibri fenders, and tarp tie downs from copper wire (not included.) The tarp is slightly modified from the kit version. It has BASF base/clear auto paint with Testor's paint for the "aluminum trim". Promotex wheels and Herpa European tires (which the kit is designed for but not included) painted with Alclad II. The decals are from DecalPrint and Ken Goudy.
