Here's a closer look at Jim Groeneweg's spectacular 1957 H63 Mack built from one of Sylvan Scale Products' resin truck tractor kits. The resin cab is mounted on a Kibri chassis with front wheels from an Athearn Mack and modified rear wheels from the Sylvan kit so it will roll. Also from Kibri, the battery boxes and a modified dash; airhorns and spot light are Athearn items. Scratchbuilt items include quarter fenders, exhaust stack, front bumper from Plastruct C channel, rear wheel "baby moons" cut from a set of Boley rear wheels and added onto the hub. All chrome is BareMetalFoil. The trailer is the old Revell 35' Moving van with A-Line spoke wheels and Boley tires (slightly lower profile for better fit) and tailight housings added. Decals still applied well for their age, colours are BASF base/clear fleet blue and '67 Ford Aqua blue for the upper. Also featured in Photo Galleries 414 and 416.
