Fritz Dahlin tells us he's been working on this pneumatic bulk trailer project for quite a while and this is his second ever resin casting project. These trailers are VERY loosely based on a 1970 Butler 1025 cubic foot aluminum tanker found on the Truck Paper (www.truckpaper.com) web site (great site for ideas by the way). The master was made from copper plumbing pipe with styrene overlays for the center section, ends and bands, and reducing fittings were used for the taper from the main body to the end sections. The hopper bays are plastic funnels, cut to fit and sanded to met the body contour. The fenders are modified parts from a Concor/Promotex tanker, top hatches are from Athearn blue box ACF hoppers. Wheels and tires are from A-Line and Alloy forms, decals are from a Pen Bay set (Fritz used Fruehauf nameplates, didn't ever think he'd find Butler). Piping is Evergreen styrene. The belt rail down the side is prototypical, and just happens to cover the seam between the body and the hoppers!
