Dennis Ray Sawyer, Randy's brother, has been a long haul trucker for many years and shares Randy's interest for old trucks. One day Dennis brought a picture of a restored 1917 Velie 3-1/2 ton truck to his brother that he had gotten on one of his runs. Randy scratchbuilt this 1/87 version in August of 2007 and added a winch to make the model more interesting.
