Randy Sawyer scratchbuilt this nice 1/87 scale model of a 1926 Republic stake bed truck in August of 2007. Originally he used a different stake bed made from blonded wood but later decided on the darker wood stake bed with produce baskets from Preiser. The wheels were built up using the spoked centers from an old Snapperroo kit from the '70s filed down and epoxied into slices of 3/8" Evergreen styrene tubing. The tires were made similarly by stretching 3/8" tubing over the rims and painting them with Humbrol enamel # 67. Figures are by Preiser.
