Randy built a nice 1/87 scale model of a 1926 Selden dump truck in November of 2006. Most of the model is scratchbuilt except for the wheels. These are modified Jordan 1919 Packard spoke wheels. The original tires were filed away and new simulated prototype balloon tires were made from scratch out of plastic tubing cut with a fine-toothed hobby miter saw and shaped using a Dremel motor tool and various grinding bits. The driver figure is from Preiser but repainted with muted colors for more realism. The dump box really dumps and the rear gate swings open.
