Randy found a photo in one of his books about old trucks and scratchbuilt this 1/87 scale 1926 Maccar dump truck in December, 2006. Extra time was spent on the project as the pneumatic tires were fashioned from 7/16" Plastruct tubing using a Dremel. The disc wheels were made from sheet styrene with small tubing for the hubs. Styrene and sheet brass were used extensively on the cab and dump box along with brass wire. Painting was done with Humbrol enamels and weathering with dry pigments and pastel chalk. The driver figure is by Preiser but repainted.
