Here is a 1/87 scale model of a Vintage Foden Steam
Traction Engine that Randy Sawyer built from scratch. The model was
made from styrene and brass and painted with Humbrol enamels. It was
weathered with dry pigments. The model is based on a photo found in
the book, "British Road Steam Vehicles", and features a driver figure
by Presiser and scratchbuilt tires and wheels. Even the wheels
and tires were built up from scratch. This operation alone took
3 and 1/2 hours. Wheel spokes are from a Jordan Fordson Tractor
overlayed with .020" x .040" styrene and then epoxied
into 3/8 inch styrene tubing for the rims and tires.
