This twin steer Freightliner FLB 8X8 truck tractor was built by Joe
Bohannon. Joe used a Herpa/Promotex FLB cab mounted on a Roco HEMETT
chassis. The Michelin tires from the HEMETT make this 8X8 ready
to tackle the rough terrain it was built to traverse. Units like these
are built for severe duty applications in the Artic and deserts of
the Middle East. The Hi-Ab crane came from Herpa, and as one person
noted, would be necessary should a tire need to be changed - one of
many uses it is good for! It is painted 'civilian' to represent the
use by an oilfield company. The trailer is an unmodified Trident tri-axle
flatbed. Painted yellow and now features Budd two hole steel wheels.
