Here is a 1924 International dump truck that Randy Sawyer built
recently from scratch. It is based on a photograph found in the
book, "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of American Trucks", and built
with styrene and brass. The model features a working dumping
mechanism and an opening rear gate. The model was painted with
thinned down Humbrol enamels and weathered with charcoal. The
wheels were made up by combining and modifying tires
from a Jordan American LaFrance Pumper and spoked wheels from a Jordan
Fordson Tractor and by adding wheel hubs of styrene tubing. The
driver figure is by Preiser.
