Here's a shot of a rusty '37 Chevrolet panel built from a Sylvan Scale
Models resin kit. It's pretty much just the stock Sylvan kit with a
bit of work done to it.
Clare Gilbert, Sylvan's owner, ground the body away from the
inside along the areas where he wanted the rust to show. Then with
a pointed dental burr in the Dremel, Clare poked at the fenders, doors
and sills from
the back being careful not to be too even. When he was happy with the
holes he brush painted the body with Floquil weathered black. When
that had dried Clare added the rust with Delta Ceramcoat acrylic using
both
dry brushing and a wash. Details like the bullet hole in the glass,
the missing hubcaps, and the hanging headlight were done before
painting.
