Here is a 1/87 scale model of a 1920 Jackson Stake
Bed Truck that was made from scratch in 2004. The model is based on
an illustration found in an out of print book, "American Truck
Spotters Guide 1920-1970". The 1920 Jackson was a large truck for
its day and featured four wheel drive. Styrene, brass, and scale lumber
were used in the construction. Circus Craft Wagon Wheels with filed
and stretched 3/8" plastic tubing were utilized to simulate the
wood spoke wheels and solid rubber tires that were common on large trucks
in the early Twenties. Weathering with dry pigments, and a driver figure
by Preiser finish the model nicely.
