This International 4900 crew cab fire truck was built by Ken White.
Ken used two IHC cabs to create this four door model. Ken also used
an IHC pumper body and assorted Busch emergency lights. The IHC pumper
body was reduced in length and then increased in height using strip
styrene to get closer to proportions that looked right to Ken. The cab
steps/running boards are fabricated from Plastruct "diamond plate"
sheet stock, additional high compartments on the driver's side (not
visible in the photo) were fabricated from strip and sheet styrene,
the front bumper was "plated" with Bare Metal foil, and the light bars
are modified Busch units. The hose load consists of strip styrene of various
sizes shaped and stacked to resemble stacked hose with a supply leader
of flattened and painted solder ending in a "four-way" valve
fabricated from tubing and wire. Ladders came from a Central Valley
ladder and stairs set, wheels and tires came from an old "Mini-Lindy"
truck kit, mirrors are photo etched items from Sheepscot Scale Products,
decals are from two different Microscale sheets, and radio antennas
are painted paint brush bristles.
