Jim Groeneweg built this Mercedes L1316 model and it started out life as a Kibri long nose dump truck (2616 heavy duty?) with trailer kit. These models (short round nose) were imported by Freightliner dealers in the early 1980s and were generally applied to straight jobs such as this one. The model was shortened appropriately and scratchbuilt chassis added. Box is a modified Tyco slot race trailer with front wall and door details added. Colors are from Humbrol paints.
