This model of a 1916 Riker was constructed from scratch in 2002 based
on a photo found in the book, "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of
American Trucks and Commercial Vehicles". The cab was made from
styrene and brass, and the hood and dump box were built up with styrene.
The wheels were made up using modified Circus Craft Wagon Wheels with
shaped 7/16" plastic tubing added for the tires. The lanterns
were taken from a Jordan Highways kit with MV brand lenses added for
the reflectors, and the figures are by Preiser. The 1916 Riker was
a large truck for its day at 3 and 4 tons carrying capacity on a 150" wheelbase.
