2002 Holiday Modeling Contest Entry
This scene is a Winter Monster Truck Festival with guests of honor
in the
drivers seats and as spectators...Santa(s), a few snowmen.... and lots
of
reindeer power under the hoods !!!!
Candy cane pylons and large snowballs mark the "Playfield".
There is also plenty of holiday c-h-e-e-r (2 truckloads of B-E-E-R
!) and
refreshments to be found in the area behind the safety fence.
The 50's Chevy in the center is a Busch scene displayed as purchased.
The remaining monster trucks are Gary's creations using Micro Machine
tires
and
various vehicles and kits. The trucks behind the fence are from his
diecast
collection with no modifications. The garland strung from the poles
are
beads strung on wire. The lights work and are from Dept
56
size ceramic house accessories. All of the vehicles, figures, trees,
etc.
were photographed on a plaster base with a Canon AE-1 using 400 ASA
film
and a flash.
