C&D Models has announced the August 1998 introduction of their Dodge Ram Dually pickup truck kit in white metal. Model has opening hood with engine Cummins turbo-diesel engine detail and operating tailgate. Also announced are Case four wheel drive tractor kits due in September and three farm implements.
From Con-Cor International are additions to their Mini-Exacts line of plastic models (made by Herpa). Available in hobby shops now are a Porsche 911, Porsche 356 convertible, a very well done Volkswagen "Beetle", and a 1950's era BMW limousine. Retail price is $6.98 each. Of interest to diorama builders and model railroaders is Wm. K. Walthers' new building structure kit of a service station named Al's Victory Service. The basic structure is from the 1930's and Walthers is selling detail kits that include soda machines, oil can displays, trash cans, mechanics' creepers, benches, hydraulic automobile lift, engine hoist, and gasoline pump canopies. The superdetailing kits are available for either modern or vintage eras. The basic kit retails for $21.98 and each of the detail kits are $21.98.
