Unbeknownst to most of us, there's a special group people
within our hobby to whom we owe a very large debt of gratitude!
These folks have spent their own hard earned money to pay for plastic
injection mold tooling charges that allow us to have models and kits
that we would never have otherwise. The obvious guys like Joe D'Elia
(A-Line) and Dan Goins (Lonestar
Models) who have their own companies are easy to spot. Just as important
to us are the folks who pay for these molds without any recognition.
Several items in Promotex's catalog are there solely because a couple
of these folks personally wanted these models to market.
The newly announced drop deck flatbed trailers (shown
above and in our New Products
section) are but one example and we owe Ralph Johnson of All
World Models for these! That Peterbilt 362E and Freightliner FLB86
we now see in Promotex's and Herpa's catalogs? Courtesy of none other
than our friend Bruno Cerri from Trucks
N' Stuff. There's several others in our close knit hobby that manage
to get a lot of remarkable things done behind the scenes that we never
hear about. Without them we'd have far fewer North American prototype
trucks available to us. Next time you see one of these guys, tell them
"Thank you!' [posted
