Another unique kit of a distinctive prototype you might have missed was the announcement of this Freightliner FL-60 we posted back in February in our L.A. Swap Meet report. Above you see a very hastily tacked together kit for photographic purposes, without the benefit of much cleanup or any primer or paint. This is the kit assembled straight from the bag with nothing more than a quick X-acto knife around the edges to clean up the minimal casting flash. This very nice resin kit, from RMM of Germany, includes a hollow cast one-piece cab and hood casting, interior & steering wheel, window "glass" insert, resin one piece chassis, left and right fuel tanks with diamond tread pattern, front bumper, photo-etched grille insert, and what appear to be Herpa low profile tires and wheels. The resin castings for this kit are superb as you can see from the photo above. It is available as a cab & chassis kit (shown above) or with an ambulance body on the same chassis. [posted 06/15/00]
