Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Special 1/87 Vehicle Club Web Site Offer!

Please note! As of December 5, 2000, this offer has been withdrawn; the 300 unit production has been purchased by someone and no others are currently available!

The 1/87 Vehicle Club's newsletter editor, Wayne Calder, in association with Dmitri Kalika, is spearheading an effort to assemble an order for 300 models of Krupp cranes, one of which is displayed above. You have a unique opportunity to obtain a model of either of two Krupp all terrain cranes: the 4 axle KMK4090 (90 ton, shown above) and the 3 axle KMK3045 (45 ton). Krupp cranes are frequently seen on construction sites and between sites throughout the world, and if you think you've seen this style of crane in Grove colors you would not be mistaken as Grove bought Krupp in 1995. These cranes are of a similar quality to Wiking's Grove crane, with extra details like steerable wheels and cable for the hook.

At the moment one model importer in the United States is offering these Russian made cranes for $48 each (they are only offering the 4090 version). This opportunity allows you to purchase each crane for $20 each!!!  There are further discounts if you buy in bulk.

For orders of 5 or more cranes there is a 10% discount. For orders of 10 or more cranes there is a 20% discount. You may include both the 3-axle and 4-axle toward your total. The only "catch" to these great prices is that we have to have a minimum order of 300 cranes (combined total of 3 and 4-axle). Please note that the color may vary from what you see in the picture. The ordering process will have 3 phases:

1. E-mail Wayne Calder indicating how many of the 4090 and the 3045 cranes you want as well as your name and shipping address (because UPS will be doing the shipping, no P.O. Boxes will be allowed).

2. If we reach the minimum order to get these prices, Wayne will email you with your total plus shipping.

3. You will then send your check or money order to Wayne.  When all the money is received the cranes will be ordered and then shipped to you when they arrive in the United States.  Allow for a minimum of 1 month from the day the order is placed to have your cranes in your hands.
