The 1/87 Vehicle Club is again sponsoring and promoting a competition for the Best Use of 1/87 Vehicles on an HO Layout at the 2011 Amherst Railroad Society Show. Introduced at last year's show, we had some terrific clubs participate and the contest was won by the Quaboag Valley Railroaders. We invite all HO scale railroad clubs/layouts attending the show to register and participate.

We're adding a new category this year for the Best Use of 1/87 Vehicles on an HO Module or Diorama to reward individual achievement by modelers part of a larger group. We're really looking forward to entries in this new category this year!

We'll be awarding a prize pool of 1/87 (HO) scale vehicle models, kits, and accessories currently valued at over $2,000 $2,200 (and growing by the day) for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in addition to the best individual module or diorama consisting of 1/87 vehicles from the best manufacturers and retailers serving our hobby. All entries will receive a vehicle model or kit appropriate for the era of their layout.
