We're pleased to announce the 2009 East Coast Meet to be held January 24, 2009 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. This event will coincide with the Amherst Railway Railroad Hobby Show in West Springfield, MA which is one of the biggest gathering of modelers and model railroaders in the northeast United States. The past couple years an informal gathering has been organized by Steve Del Sesto, Ken Ensign, and others and last year's gathering was so crowded we all agreed we needed a larger space and more organization. The site for this meet will be the Days Inn Gateway Conference & Banquet Center in Chicopee, MA. Here's the details:

If you've not yet made hotel reservations for the weekend we have been offered an attractive room rate of $65.00 per night for anyone interested in staying at the event hotel. You will need to ask for the "Amherst Railway Society Show room block rate" to get this rate and we encourage you to take advantage of this offer. You can make reservations by calling the hotel number listed above and asking for the "Amherst Railway room block."

The format for this event is essentially a model display. We encourage everyone to bring finished models and projects under way to share with everyone. We will not have vendors selling at the show so as not to conflict with our friends selling at the train show. However, we will have vendor and manufacturer representatives on hand to discuss new models and make suggestions for new projects.
