In 1988 Komatsu and Dresser began a joint venture named the KDC. In 1991 this big loader was released. It was based on the Dresser 580 Payloader (the biggest in the Payloader line) it replaced but even bigger and more powerful with 1,350 HP. Bucket capacity was 24 cubic yards and operating weight was 156 tons. Tire size was 49.5-57,68PR. In 1995 the big loader was discontinued.
For this model, Günter Storch used the parts of a toy loader in a bigger scale and, luckily, it was an International. He was able to use parts of the frame, loading frame with bucket, and the wheels. He had to rebuild the motor cover, ladders, gangways, cab, air breathers, and exhaust with Evergreen styrene. Decals are self printed. The Life-Like Ford F-150 is shown for a relative size comparison.
