Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

WWII German MAN Ambulance/Surgery Bus - By Rick Hoskinson

Rick Hoskinson says this fun project started out with a 1938 MAN double deck city bus from Wiking (see comparison photo below). The upper deck was removed and the roof panel was retained and lengthened to cover the now single deck bus. A four bed surgery section was added to the rear with privacy bulkheads installed to separate crew seating from the medical facility. The right rear corner and right side were closed in to replicate the original vehicle (see photo at bottom). Added details include MV Products lenses for lights and a ROCO Notek night light. Scratchbuilt items include the exhaust system, clearance markers, license plate frames, grab handle at rear entry and side view mirrors. Paint is Panzer Gray with decals from TL and Peddinghaus.
