Christophe Culis built this Mack Granite GU813 6x4 dump truck model. Christophe used a Ralph Ratcliffe Models Granite resin cabs. As far as truck components, Christophe went for the D-squared fuel tanks option, adding to the chassis the dual air reservoirs, and a tool box. On the passenger side, he installed the hydraulic reservoir, the SCR catalyst unit (just behind the DPF and steps). Christophe makes his own dump bodies modeled after the well-known Quebec dump manufacturers based in the Montreal region (Lagacé & Frères). Here, he choose to reproduce a typical 15 ft dump body, smooth-sided and equipped with three asphalt doors (usually, those short dump trucks are used by specialized contractor for smaller/localized paving jobs or for utility work in tight, urban areas, for example). They are short, compact, powerful; they can eventually pull an equipment trailer and deliver asphalt to the crews as close as possible to the job. Then the crew finishes the asphalt placement with wheelbarrows. That's the idea behind the presence of this truck in the railroad contracting firm's fleet.
