This scratchbuilt trailer from John Ross is an oilfield nitrogen injection unit. The blue tank holds the nitrogen and the front mounted motor and pumps transfer it to the frack pump (the other trailer) which injects it into the drill site hole. The motor is another one of Ralph Ratcliffe's masterpieces. This one is a Detroit Diesel 12V-71 diesel engine. The two compartment open box in front of the operator cab is a vat to hold the nitrogen after it is converted to a liquid. John says he thinks the coolest detail feature is the diesel engine exhausts turned back into the radiator. This is part of the gas to liquid conversion process. Nitrogen is used in the fracking process. It makes the soil more porous and cools and prevents explosions during the high pressure injection process. The trailer is all scratchbuilt except the tires and engine. On display again at the 2014 East Coast Meet in W. Springfield, MA.
