Showman's Traction Engine - By Randy Sawyer

Randy scratchbuilt this 1920 Titan 5-ton flatbed truck in 2005 and scratchbuilt this "Showman's Traction Engine" over the Fourth of July weekend, 2006. Wheels for the Titan were made from Evergreen 3/8" styrene tubing and Grandt Line's 43" cable sheaves. Wheels for the traction engine were made from styrene tubing and spokes from a Jordan Fordson Tractor. The steering wheel is a Precision Scale 21" four-spoke brake wheel and leaf springs are by Evergreen Hill. The boiler was made from a wooden dowel, and the simulated canvas roof from card stock. All other parts were made up using styrene sheet and strips, brass sheet, brass wire, and scale lumber.
