Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1926 Corbitt Dump Truck - By Randy Sawyer

Randy Sawyer tells us he finally got around to finishing the 1926 Corbitt Dump Truck in 1/87 scale that he started in October, 2006. Most of the model is scratch except for the rims. These are modified "O" scale railroad work cart wheels with the flanges removed. Yes, the tires were made from scratch also out of plastic tubing cut with a fine-toothed hobby miter saw, and shaped using a Dremmel and various grinding bitts. The driver figure is from Preiser of Germany, but repainted with muted colors for even more realism. The dump box really dumps and the gate swings open.
